Welcome to the world, Micah!

November 20, 2010. 8 lbs 14 oz. 21 3/4 in.

One of the best days in the world.

Micah was due November 16 but didn't want to come out. I thought my water broke on November 14 so I called my parents and told them we were going to the hospital but I'd call them to let them know for sure when I found out. Well, it didn't break but my parents decided to come up anyways. It was great having them here and getting to spend time together. My doctor took me out of work starting on my due date. I was going to be induced Saturday, November 20 if he didn't decide to come first. On November 18 we got a phone call that another mom that was supposed to be induced on the 19th went into labor and they had an opening.

So on November 19, we woke up and went to Chick Fil A for breakfast with my parents. I kept telling everyone not to tell me what time it was because I was scared to know! We got to the hospital around 8 and had me fill all the paperwork out. Around 9:40 the pitocin was started. I don't know the exact time they broke my water but I think it was around 12 or 1. I was already 3 cm for a couple weeks so I thought it would go by pretty fast. I wanted to try and do it with no pain medicine. When they checked me and I was only 5 and in so much pain I got an IV pain medicine (Nubane I believe). It didn't seem to do anything with the pain, just made me dizzy. An hour later I was checked again and had only made it to 6. My doctor said I could wait another hour and be checked again but suggested the epidural because it didn't seem like I was relaxing enough through the contractions to let my cervix dialate. I had the anesthesiologist talk to me because I was scared about getting the epidural but couldn't imagine going the rest of the way with nothing else. I went ahead and got the epidural and it didn't hurt at all! It numbed my right side but I could still feel contractions and move my left leg really well so they sent someone else back up to put more medicine in it. Thank God for the epidural it was marvelous! I actually slept and was able to text and everything. I don't know why I didn't get it earlier but now I know for next time.

An hour later they checked me and I was between a 7 and 8. An hour later 9, and an hour later it was time to push! Micah was still pretty high up so we did some pushing to try getting him down. After about 30 minutes with no change she had me change positions to try and help him come down and she let me sit there for about 45 minutes. When she came back we started pushing again and ended up doing that for about 3 hours. She actually called the anesthesiologist because she thought I needed a c-section but I really didn't want one so she tried using the vaccuum to help get him out. It came off twice but finally he came out!

Since he was in the birth canal so long R didn't get to cut the cord they just rushed Micah over to get looked at. After a few minutes they brought him over to me. It was so amazing being able to hold my little boy. I couldn't believe he was inside of me for so long! I had some clotting in my uterus to so that was fun..but I'm so glad Micah is here he has changed our lives so much. He is the best blessing God could have given us.

So much has changed.

In July 2010 we went to Florida to have a baby shower with my family/friends down there. It went so great and we were so blessed by our friends and family. Some major things happened that I can't go into detail about on here but our lives have been changed forever. Then when we were on our way home Jack just wasn't acting himself. He seemed really tired and was walking really slow. At the first rest stop and was barely able to walk :-( Then at the next one he wouldn't walk at all and was dragging his back legs when he did try to. At the last one he wouldn't move at all and whined when we tried to help him. We got home really late and went to the vet first thing the next morning. They said he split a disk in his back and was paralyzed from the waist down. It is something that can happen with basset hounds. He was not able to control his bladder so they gave us a couple options. Do a surgery that might not work and costs $5,000 get a cart made for him to walk around with but someone would have to be home a lot to give him medicine and take him out since he couldn't control his bladder or put him to sleep. We went with the later option since the surgery might not work and we really didn't have an exra $5,000 and we didn't think he'd be happy in a cart. Also with a new baby and us working a lot, didn't know how we'd be able to get him all his medicine and everything else. It was a horrible day (and week really) but he made our lives so much better while he was here and I hope he had a good life with us too.

Blue does not do well on his own. He has very bad seperation anxiety so the vet put him on xanax but it didn't seem to help any. About a month after we put Jack to sleep we got Abby from the same shelter Jack and Blue are from. We believe she's a beagle and some kind of bull mix (maybe pit bull or boxer?) She's sooo sweet and always wants to cuddle! We love her so much.

Suprise!

We're pregnant! We found out on 3/14/10 and our first appointment is 4/13/10..can't wait to see our little baby! We put TTC on hold for a while after getting the house then just last month (February!) decided we were going to try again. Guess God had a plan cause here we are! I'm pretty sure the due date is within the first couple weeks of November but I won't know for sure until Apil.

My parents and sister are coming up on Saturday! We're going to be telling both our parents on Sunday after Church. I can't wait and I'm really glad I'll get to tell my parents in person!

Hi there, it's been a while.

I haven't posted in forever! I guess I just feel like no one reads it so why should I update it...but now I've decided I want to be able to look back and remember what we were doing.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hope everyone's having a great day :) R has gotten me on surprise but he won't let me open it until later. I picked everything else out. I got a laptop, a cute winter coat from NY and Company, boots, earrings, and a bunch of clothes! It was definately a success :) R got an new Xbox since his old one broke, some clothes, a halo boardgame, and a voice recorder (he beatboxes too and wanted something good to record on).
We also bought a house in September! It's perfect, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a HUGE backyard. We also got another dog, Blue, we think he's a border collie and beagle mix.

We just finished paying off all of our 'debt'..when we bought the house we had to buy a lawn mower, a fridge, and other random things so now it's all paid off and we'll only have mortgage, car insurance, power, and phone bills every month! I'm so excited :)

We're getting ready to go to FL January 2 to see my family..and meet my new nephew, John who was born November 3!! Can't wait to see everyone :)

EKG

I had an EKG today. The past week or so my heart rate has been in the 100's..one day 120. She said it looked ok other than beating way too fast but I have to go back in 4 weeks to re-do it and if it doesn't change I have to be monitered for 24 hours. She did want to give me medicine but since we're TTC I can't take any of it. They drew some blood and are going to be looking at the platelet count and my thyroid. I'm really hoping everything comes back ok!

I got my glasses today! They're made by Coach and so beautiful! It feels so good to be able to see again.

We took Jack out to play today. He loves going out and just running around. I really wish we had a house so he could do it when he wanted to.
Our apartment has a dog park but we took him to the front and played with a frisbee and a ball.
We also got some pregnancy tests from the dollar store! I'm going to take one tomorrow. I really can't wait!

Us and Jack

2 posts in 1 night!

Fun Day

So, Jack isn't 50 lbs yet! He's up to 45.5 lbs. He really doesn't look like he should weigh that much but he does. The appointment went well it was kinda weird..the vet tech trimmed his nails and then the Dr. came in a little later and just said " So she needs a shot today?" Puts in the shot and says "Ok we're done have a good weekend"...first of all, JACK is clearly a boy's name..lol. But it was ok I guess. They saved us a bunch of money so that's fine with me!
We were both off of work today so we came home and laid and bed and watched tv for a while. I had an eye appointment at 2:30 and I picked out a nice new pair of Coach glasses! They're so cute! My insurance is awesome and we got it for very very cheap. I haven't gotten new glasses in about 5 years so I really needed them. I'm a pharmacy technician so we are on the computer quite a bit and trying to read things sometimes was blurry even with my glasses on so I'm glad I finally got some. :)
The docotor there was really nice too.
After we were done there we went to Firehouse (www.firehousesubs.com) for dinner. SOOOO good!! I love that place and we have a frequent vistors card so every meal we get we get a stamp and our 7th meal is free!
After we were done there we went to the mall and I got a new pair of work pants from New York and Company for $7.99! If you have one near you you need to go they're having an awesome sale. I also go a shirt just cause I wanted it :) R got a new hat..it's cute. It's really colorful he says it's "an artist's hat". (By the way he's an artist)

So, that was our day. Now I'm getting ready to watch Jon and Kate Plus 8. I'm cleaning while I wait for it to come on.
Hope everyone else had a good day!!
